Standing water can occur on the substructure timbers despite small joint widths because neither wind nor sun can ensure rapid drying. To prevent damage to the wood, we recommend the use of SPAX Tape. This polyethylene tape is UV-resistant, impact-resistant, can be removed without leaving any residue and is simply glued to the top of the substructure timbers.
